In a hastily changing world where inevitable stress and anxiety impact our mood and relationships, the steadiness you seek lies within.

It's normal to feel overwhelmed ...

Our brain, evolved to protect us from imminent physical danger, now battles a new enemy : the dizzying overwhelm of endless tasks and a relentless schedule.

Hardship is part of life and the human condition. But it is important to remember that the anxiety and dysphoria we can feel today actually relate more to our unique internal processing system, than the nature of the events themselves.

Turning to friends and family may help, but it can also be disorientating. Their advice comes from subjective experience and can therefore be unconsciously biased.

Finding the right Therapist who is truly able to hear and receive you with non-judgemental positive regard can also be a challenge. But as we now know from research, it is not so much the approach as the quality of the therapeutic relationship that creates lasting positive change.

Understand how you came to be the person you are today

My orientation is Integrative...

I believe therapy should be client-centred, bespoke, supportive, and above all, a collaborative process. That doesn't mean I don't challenge or shine a light in difficult places - but I ensure we have established a safe and trusting rapport first, so that the process of revealing the less adaptive parts of your Self invites curiosity and insight, rather than shame.

I draw on a number of different theories and continuously stay abreast of new developments in the

fields of psychotherapy, psychology and psychiatry.

I am interested in child development, parenting styles, the importance of sibling interactions, friendship dynamics, the ego's needs in romantic relationships, epigenetics, neuroscience, and much more, including Buddhism, philosophy, meditation, and mindfulness.

We all share the same blueprint of human nature, but our brains, personalities and backgrounds are very different, so an open-minded and versatile approach is key. If you choose to work with me, the foundations of your self-confidence and self-esteem will be a starting point for the journey ahead. Because, without solid self-belief, it is difficult to reach acceptance and forgiveness of the past. And until we can let go of the past, we can't create a better and more intentional future.

ABOUT ME

I consider myself to be a Citizen of the World, with no particular sense of belonging. That's because I come from a very mixed family and grew up in several different cities and countries - all of which felt like home.

For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by people (and nature) and had an insatiable need to know more.

I majored in Philosophy at a French school, studied in Berlin and graduated in the UK, and then started a career in advertising, because I wanted to learn more about human nature, motivation, and behaviour.

But after 8 years of climbing the ladder to a senior position, I became dejected by the manipulative and commercial nature of advertising, and I needed something more gratifying.

I started my own therapy and finally found my vocation. This led to 6 long years of re-training post-grad to become a Psychotherapist.

After Accreditation, I worked in the NHS for GP surgeries and Hospitals for nearly a decade. Then I had a baby and became more preoccupied with parenting and child development. So I transitioned to Primary Schools, Secondary Schools, and Universities, helping young people reach their developmental milestones, accomplish individuation and self reliance, and find their place and meaning in the world.

Looking back, I think these were the most seminal years of my career. Because I was witnessing first hand how and why mental health problems arise, and how much early intervention can make a difference.

But after 16 years, I needed a change, and my attention returned to adults. I opened my own private practice, which I now have to manage carefully in terms of work/life balance. It has been incredibly rewarding and I still learn something new every day.
